Have a pumpkin and not sure what you are going to do with it? Pumpkins are everywhere right now so it’s the perfect time to stock-up (you might even get lucky enough to find some on clearance!) and take advantage of all they have to offer – besides a cute triangle nose!
Pumpkins are rich in vitamins such as the antioxidant Vitamin C, skin-healing Vitamin A, along with plenty of Zinc, making pumpkins the perfect accompaniment to a soothing facial!
While the pumpkins go to work in healing and moisturizing, there are other ingredients that we can add to help make this the yummiest ever facial smoothie for our skin. With a few things from our pantry and about 5 minutes you are well on your way to a healthier looking and feeling complexion.
Ingredients:
*2 C of the squishy insides of a pumpkin
*1/4 C green tea
(make yourself a cup and omit 1/4C – drink the rest or simply cut open the tea bag and add the leaves for extra exfoliating)
*powerful antioxidant, helps fight toxins on your skin and may reduce skin damage and signs of aging)
*1/4 C extra virgin olive oil
*natural moisturizing properties
*2 TBSP raw honey
*absorbs impurities from the skin, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal
How To:
1. In a blender, combine all ingredients
2. Puree – creating a smooth texture
3. Using a a clean spoon, take out the amount you need for today’s facial and set aside (you don’t want to use your fingers and contaminate the remaining batch with any germs or bacteria from your hands).
4. Refrigerate the remaining amount for later use.
Note: I actually warmed my batch up for a few seconds in the microwave first! Just be careful and make sure it doesn’t get too warm!
